Martin Johnson, instructor at the Golden Pyramid Martial Arts Center, was inducted into The U.S.A. International Black Belt Hall of Fame, November 13, 2010 at the 23rd Annual Global Leadership Conference held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This “invitation only” private event was sponsored by the Eastern U.S.A. International Martial Arts Association and is held annually for invited participants.

Guro Johnson was inducted under the Instructor of the Year category. As Instructor of the Year for 2010, Johnson joins an elite list of martial artists from around the world, all of whom have been recognized by the Eastern U.S.A. International Martial Arts Association for their dedication to the martial arts. Johnson has been studying and teaching the art of Kali for more than 12 years, and is extremely honored to have been recognized by the association for his contributions to his art.

“This award is considered one of the highest honors given by the International Martial Arts Association and is reserved for recognition of dedication, skill, and leadership. Being inducted into the International Black Belt Hall of Fame is a career milestone!” said Johnson, who at age 46 has trained in many styles of martial arts, including Shaolin Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, Ka Ju Ken Bo,  Marcial Tirada Kali and Armas-Kali.

Guro Johnson, a 5th Level Black Sash, founded Cleveland Kali in 2009. Cleveland Kali is located at the Golden Pyramid Martial Arts Center in Maple Heights. The school has martial arts training programs tailored for children and adults, including Ka Ju Ken Bo training, Kung Fu, Kali and Jiu -Jitsu.
